St. John’s Riverside Hospital is pleased to announce that our Community Breast Health Program was awarded a grant for $75,000 from the Avon Foundation for Women. The announcement was made at the conclusion of the “Avon 39 The Walk to End Breast Cancer”.
After participating in the two day walk, Shari Rosenberg
, St. John’s Riverside Hospital’s Patient Navigator
, accepted the check on behalf of the hospital. The grant proceeds are designated to help provide patient navigation and survivorship programs to medically underserved women in Yonkers.
Avon funding is essential in achieving our mission of providing quality breast care for patients who seek comprehensive cancer services at St. John’s. Funds will broaden our reach to those who are challenged with access to breast screening and follow-up care and also assist our health professionals that provide cancer education, screening coordination, treatment, support services and patient navigation.
Congratulations to the staff, volunteers, and community partners for your commitment to providing the care that our patients deserve. We will continue to take part in the many benefits Avon has to offer in building our knowledge base and making valuable connections to advance cancer care at St. John’s Riverside Hospital.
