Paul Antonecchia, MD, MBA, FACP
Program Director 

The Program Director, Dr. Paul Antonecchia, has focused on leadership, administration and education throughout his distinguished career. Dr. Antonecchia possesses a unique combination of experience and training, including appointment as a teaching faculty member in an internal medicine residency program for over fourteen years, service as a Chief Medical Officer, commission as a Captain in the U.S. Army Medical Reserve Corps and leadership within the American College of Physician Executives. He has pursued education both personally and professionally, attaining an MBA and subsequently teaching graduate level management courses. Dr. Antonecchia is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and became a Vanguard Member of the American College of Physician Executives (ACPE) after earning his Certified Physician Executive credential, which was awarded by the Certifying Commission on Medical Management. He went on to receive his Fellowship in the ACPE, and now serves on the Certifying Commission on Medical Management. He completed training leading to certification by the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians and is a Fellow of the American Institute for Healthcare Quality as well as a Certified Healthcare Quality Manager.  Dr. Antonecchia passion for education has been a driving force in establishing the medical residency program.

Minimize   Program Director (PD)
The Program Director (PD) must administer and maintain an educational environment conducive to educating the residents in each of the ACGME competency areas.  The program director will also oversee and ensure the quality of didactic and clinical education in all sites that participate in the program and approve and oversee all program faculty members. In addition to the aforementioned duties, the PD is an advocate for the house staff and must ensure compliance with grievance and due process procedures. The PD must also monitor and enforce workplace and work hours compliance, evaluations and assessments and all other educational and administrative issues affecting residents. The PD is a member of the GMEC.  He serves as a mentor to the residents.
