HOPE – Healthcare Opportunities Provided with Excellence – is St. John’s Riverside Hospital’s response to the specific needs of people in our community living with HIV/AIDS. The cumulative incidence of reported AIDS cases in Yonkers is more than twice that for all other areas of Westchester County combined. According to the New York State Department of Health, is ranked highest in need for HIV-related services. We have taken an important step to stem the HIV epidemic with the HOPE Center.
• HIV Counseling, Testing and Referral
• Primary Care Medical Services
• Mental Health
• Dental Services
• Peer Education Program
The program is funded through grants from the United States Department of Health and Human Services, New York State Department of Health (AIDS Institute) and Westchester County Department of Health. To meet this need, St. John’s attained Designated AIDS Center status in 1996. To continue to evolve for our community, we have established a state-of-the-art outpatient treatment facility: the HOPE Center at Park Care Pavilion. The Center provides the highest quality medical, mental health, case management and dental services to area residents in one convenient location.
The HOPE Center wants to be a partner in your health care. Our staff is multicultural and multi-lingual. We work in this field because we care! We want to help you make a difference in your health. We have the personal, professional, cultural and life experience to help you be as healthy as you can.
Our services are provided to individuals who are at-risk for HIV infection or who are HIV infected. Services are either free or are charged to your medical insurance, Medicaid, Medicaid HMO’s, Medicare and most private insurance. We also have access to coverage to assist with the outpatient medical care of those with HIV who have no coverage. This coverage is through the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) offered by the State of New York.
