Physical Therapy

At the Physical Therapy Department, your recovery is our priority.  Physical Therapy can help you regain independence, mobility and strength after an illness or accident. St. John’s Riverside Hospital provides quality sessions utilizing a combination of techniques to help relieve pain, promote healing, and restore function and movement.

Physical Therapy is provided by a professionally trained St. John’s Riverside Hospital physical therapist under the referral of your doctor. The Physical Therapy Department is staffed by caring professionals who are licensed and registered in the State of New York. Treatments include; heat, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation utilizing state-of-the-art equipment.  


 We specialize in:
  • Upper & Lower Extremity Evaluation 
  • Neck and Back Evaluation 
  • Gait and Balance Training 
  • Range of Motion Exercises 
  • Stretching and Strengthening Exercises 
  • Pain Management (including TENS evaluations) 
  • Ergonomic and Body Mechanics 
  • Posture Analysis 
  • Endurance Training 
  • Physiatry Exams 
  • EMG Nerve Conduction Testing 
When you first come to the Physical Therapy Department, a comprehensive evaluation is conducted to design a personalized treatment plan just for you. Physical therapists and their trained staff will monitor each individual and focus on an individual’s alignments and movement patterns. The treatment sessions are approximately 45 - 60 minutes in length.

Outpatient hours of operation (by appointment only) have been established to accommodate evenings. There is ample parking as well as valet parking available and St. John's can be easily reached by public transportation.
