“Clearly, Yonkers needs this expansion and modernization of emergency room capacity. The St. John’s health network plays a vital role in the health of Yonkers residents as well as the economic well-being of the City of Yonkers,” said Mayor Mike Spano.

St. John’s Riverside Hospital today announced that it will file an application with the New York State Department of Health for $10 million in Vital Access Provider (VAP) Grant funds to restructure and expand the Emergency Department (ED) at St. John’s Andrus Pavilion in Yonkers.

St. John’s Riverside Hospital has just announced a new initiative designed to produce superb quality medical images with the lowest amount of radiation exposure necessary. This comprehensive approach to medical imaging is based on the hospital’s Philips CT (Cat Scan) and X-ray systems. It includes techniques, programs, and practices to ensure optimum image quality while minimizing radiation exposure to patients and the hospital’s clinical staff.

St. John’s Riverside Hospital announced that it is now offering MAKOplasty®  robotic partial knee resurfacing,  a minimally invasive  treatment option for adults living with early to mid-stage osteoarthritis that has not yet progressed to all three compartments of the knee.  MAKOplasty is less invasive than traditional total knee surgery and is performed using RIO®, a highly advanced, surgeon controlled robotic arm system.  St. John’s Riverside  Hospital is the FIRST and ONLY hospital to acquire this technology in Westchester County.
