The Smithers Alcoholism Treatment and Training Center at St. John's Riverside Hospital offers a 350-hour OASAS (Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services) accredited course which trains health care professionals to be academically eligible for the NYS CASAC (Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor) exam.

Yonkers, July 2011 – St. John’s Riverside Hospital has received the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines ®–Stroke Bronze Quality Achievement Award. The award recognizes St. John’s commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of stroke care by ensuring that stroke patients receive treatment according to nationally accepted standards and recommendations.
