Emergency Department Doctors are All Board Certified
When you have an emergency, it's good to know that the Dobbs Ferry Pavilion is there when you need it with the most responsive and highest quality emergency care.
Our Emergency Department doctors are all Board Certified and, in many cases, Board Certified in multiple specialties including Critical Care, Pulmonary Medicine and Emergency Medicine. Many have received their medical training at Columbia-Presbyterian, where our Medical Director, Mark Silberman, M.D. also teaches Emergency Medicine. All of our Emergency Department doctors and nurses are ACLS certified. The Emergency Department physicians also provide in-house, round-the-clock medical backup to the personal physicians and specialists of our inpatients.
Caring for emergency patients before they reach the Emergency Department was greatly enhanced in 1997, when the Town of Greenburgh and our area's six local Volunteer Ambulance Corps designed Paramedic Fly-Car backup. This service places a trained paramedic at the scene of every serious emergency ambulance call throughout our six-village area of Dobbs Ferry, Hastings-on-Hudson, Irvington, Tarrytown, Elmsford and Ardsley. As a result, countless lives have been saved in the field.
For this area, the Emergency Department doctors at the Dobbs Ferry Pavilion provide the medical control by radio/cell phone, and the patient is brought to the hospital closest to the ambulance pickup site.
